From Prototype to Perfection: A New Story Behind The Favorite Bag
The past month has been a whirlwind of creativity, collaboration, and anticipation as I’ve worked to refine The Favorite Bag and prepare for its launch. It’s amazing to reflect on how far this project has come and to share some behind-the-scenes moments from this incredible journey.
A Holiday of Feedback and Fresh Ideas
Over the Christmas holiday, I had the opportunity to gather with family and friends at my parents' house. This was not just a time for celebration—it was also the perfect chance to gather feedback on the first prototype of The Favorite Bag. My best friends, family members, and even my brother (who had some stellar ideas!) offered thoughtful critiques and suggestions to make the bag even better.
After taking in all their input, I spent hours in Illustrator, re-drawing the design to incorporate every valuable change. These updates ranged from practical tweaks to exciting new features that I can’t wait for you to see. Once the design was finalized, I sent it off to my supplier and began the waiting game.
The Best Christmas Present
Three long weeks later—just after Christmas—the second prototype arrived. Let me tell you, it felt like the best Christmas present ever! Unboxing the updated bag and seeing all the changes (and the WHITE color!) come to life was a surreal and thrilling moment. The improvements exceeded my expectations, and I could already envision how much easier this bag would make life for so many adventurers and busy moms.
Wearing All the Hats
Now, it’s back to work. As a one-woman band trying to save money and make this dream a reality, I’m juggling all the roles: designer, photographer, marketer, website creator, and more. My daughters have stepped up to help, and my son and husband have been incredibly supportive as well. It’s truly a family effort, and I’m so grateful for their encouragement.
Currently, I’m deep into editing photos of The Favorite Bag and preparing them for the website. I’m also working on creating video content for the launch. Every detail matters, and while it’s a lot of work, it’s also deeply rewarding.
Excitement and Nerves
As the launch date approaches, I’m filled with a mix of excitement and nerves. Sharing something so personal with the world is both thrilling and intimidating. But I believe in this bag, and I know it has the potential to make a real difference in the lives of others—just as it has in mine.
